Matthew & Jessica Lane
Matthew and Jessica Lane didn’t just build a backyard construction company, they redefined what it means to run an outdoor living and landscaping business with professionalism, precision, and consistency. What began in 2006 as a small patio cover company has grown into a powerhouse brand and a landscaping franchise known for full-scale backyard transformations, in-house construction teams, and operational excellence.
Today, Matthew, the company’s CEO, leads a team of sales professionals while serving as the top-producing designer. With a background in design and a passion for coaching, he now plays a key role in franchise development, providing sales support and construction training to new owners entering the system.
Jessica serves as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, leading office operations, managing schedules, and overseeing more than 30 active construction crews. A UNLV and Boyd School of Law graduate, she brings legal insight and a systems-first mindset to the business, ensuring structure, accountability, and strategic growth.
The couple’s combined experience and vision have transformed Proficient Patios & Backyard Designs into a refined, fully licensed, multi-trade operation. Now, with the expertise they’ve built in the Las Vegas market, they are expanding the brand through franchising, offering others the tools, support, and credibility to build a thriving landscaping franchise with a model built for impact.
